Dispensary Setup

Introduction

This is an outline on how you can setup your dispensary.   Follow these steps one by one and it will not take you a long time.

What you need to do is 

1.  Create your first practitioner

2.  Add your ingredients

3. Set your Prices

4. Setup Shipping

5. Setup Taxes

6. Create your Formula/Product Labels

7. Create your Formula/Product Infosheets

8. Add your Inventory Amounts

Create Practitioner

To do anything in your dispensary you need at least one practitioner.   Click on the following link for instructions on how to create a practitioner.   Estimated Time to accomplish is about 1 minute.

Add Herbal Ingredients

We do not put any herbs or premix formulas into your dispensary when its setup. This is because not everyone uses the same herbs, so it would be overwhelming to have every herb already in there, and many you wouldn’t even use.! To save you time, we have lists of herbs you can use to quickly add herbs to your dispensary. You need to fill out an excel file with the herbs you want in your dispensary and upload it. You can of course add one by one, but it will take a long time depending on the number of herbs you have.

Update Prices

The next step is to set your prices.    You can change prices for herbs and premix formulas one by one.   You can also update your pricing in bulk

Setup Shipping

Do you want to ship products to practitioners or patients?

Setup Taxes

Do you need to charge taxes on herbs and products?

Create a Formula Label

After building a custom formula, you can have your dispensary automatically generate a formula label. 

For each formula type you need to create a label.   You only need to do this once, and then its setup forever.

Create an Infosheet

After building a custom formula, you may also want to print a custom infosheet for your order.

For each formula builder you need to create an infosheet.

Setup Payments

if you want to collect money from Customers you need to enable at least one payment method.  If you using the dispensary-tree system to just keep track of herbal medicine and do not want to collect money, you can turn the checkout off. To turn off the checkout, go to Admin > Settings > Orders, and then toggle off “Practitioner Checkout”

Add Inventory/Stock Amounts

THIS SHOULD BE DONE ONLY ONCE YOU ARE COMPLETELY FAMILIAR WITH THE PLATFORM AND WILL BEGIN USING IT. IF YOU ADD THE QTY & LOT INFORMATION TO THE PLATFORM AND THEN DISPENSE OUTSIDE OF DISPENSARY-TREE, YOUR INVENTORY WILL BE WRONG.

When we refer to inventory, we are referring to how much you have of each single herb, premix formula or product. There is a seperate section in your admin called “Inventory”, which holds all the information pertaining to lot numbers, quantities, transactions, balances. The other sections “Single Herbs, Premix Formulas and Products” are just information about what is contained in your catalog. Those sections do not deal with how much of it you have on hand but rather what you have.
