What is Dispensary Tree?
Software that runs your herbal dispensary: formulas, labels and info sheets, inventory, orders and fulfillment, with portals for your practitioners and patients. Write a formula once, and the label, the stock count and the order all follow from it.
Is it only for big dispensaries?
No. It is built for solo practitioners who run their own dispensary, for teaching dispensaries, and for dispensaries supplying hundreds of practitioners. Same software, on a plan sized to you.
Who is behind it?
Jason Tarter, R.TCMP, R.Ac, a practitioner who still dispenses, founded Dispensary Tree and directs it. A development team builds it, and when you ask for a feature, it reaches the person who decides what gets built. More about Jason.
Does it handle granules, raw herbs and tinctures properly?
Yes. Each preparation is counted separately, in its own unit, with its own formula builder, and you can add any preparation you work in.
Can I sell products as well as formulas?
Yes: products you buy in and resell, and products you make from your own herb inventory. Stock is committed the moment an order comes in and removed when you fulfill it. How products work.
Can practitioners order from me directly?
Yes, around the clock, through a portal branded to your dispensary and against a formulary you approve. Shipping rates come live from the carriers, so nobody guesses. See the portals.
What can patients do?
See the refills available to them and pay for them, pay invoices, and keep their own address current in the patient portal. Every one of those is a message your team no longer has to answer.
Does it work with Shopify?
Yes, and it syncs both ways: your Shopify details come into Dispensary Tree, and your dispensary inventory goes out to Shopify. The storefront and the dispensary count the same jar. Shopify inventory sync.
We are a school. Does it support teaching?
Yes. Student accounts, instructor sign-off before anything is dispensed, and the same software your students will use after they graduate. For schools.

What it costs, and what you commit to.
How much does it cost?
Health Clinics is $39.99 USD a month and Schools is $150 USD a month. Enterprise is priced on a call. Every plan includes unlimited patients, online payments, discount codes and custom formulas. See pricing.
Is there a free trial?
Yes. Every plan starts with a 14-day free trial. A card is required to start it.
Am I locked into a contract?
No. You pay monthly, there is no long-term contract, and you can cancel anytime.
Do I pay per patient?
No. Patients are unlimited on every plan, with no per-patient charges.
Which plan do I need?
It depends on the kind of dispensary you run, not how big it is. If you are not sure, book a call and we will tell you.
Getting started
How quickly you are up and running.
How long does setup take?
Most practitioners are running in one to two days. Setup help is free for as long as it takes. We would rather you were running than stuck.
Do I have to move my old records over?
No. Most dispensaries are on paper, so there is nothing to migrate. We do not import old formulas; you start with your next one.
Can I get my data out if I leave?
Yes. Download it to CSV from the import and export area whenever you want. Nothing is held hostage.
Can I see it before I sign up?
Yes. Book a call for a live walkthrough: a formula becomes a label, moves stock and gets paid.

Dispensary Tree is HIPAA compliant. Patient records, formulas and orders are held under HIPAA requirements.
